New Year's Resolutions 2015

Make New Year's goals.

What would you like to attain?
What would you like to have happen in your life this year?
Where would you like to go?

Write it down. Take a piece of paper, a few hours of your time, and write it all down. The New Year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written. We can help write that story by setting goals.

Here are a few of my New Year's Resolutions for 2015 (in no particular order):

Date
To many this may sound really easy and you might wonder why this is my resolution. I don't usually put myself out there and try to go on dates. I'm not saying its necessary for everyone to go on dates but this year I thought that I'd like to give dating a chance. It won't be easy because it would mean getting out of my comfort zone but I know that it will be worth it in the end.

Learn Chinese
I don't know about other people who's family speak another language but for the past year I have felt embarrassed when non-Asians can speak Mandarin better than I can! This year I'm going to learn how to speak Chinese. I can understand a little already but my speaking skills are pretty bad. I'm not going to attempt to be fluent but I want to at least hold a casual conversation in my native language. So if you live in Utah and you can speak Chinese or know someone, definitely let me know.

Be Healthy
I make this my goal every year but it doesn't hurt to try again ;). Basically the same ol' same ol': eat healthier, work out, etc.

Save Money
I admit that I am a shopaholic and a foodaholic. But this year I'm going to try to break that habit. I was reading a friend's blog (MissTaraBrooke.Com) and she had this really great idea of saving 3$ a day which gave me an idea on how to save some money. I currently save my change every time I pay with cash but this year I'm going to put my debit card away and only use cash. That way I am more aware of how much and how often I'm spending.

Journal Writing
I like writing in my journal but sometimes it's a pain because when I have a lot to say I get lazy and I don't feel like writing it all down! Actually, one of my favorite things to do is to go back and read old journal entries but I can't do that if there's nothing to read... My goal for this year is to write in my journal every day, even if its only a few sentences.

There you have it! Those are just a few that I wanted to share with you guys.

What are some of your goals for the New Year?

90's Kid

One of my favorite dresses to wear are shift dresses. There's just something about them that makes them flattering on every body type. To give my shift dress a little more structure, I added my favorite denim vest and accessorized with a layered pendant necklace and my favorite tortoiseshell watch. This outfit looks like something from the 90s but with a modern twist because of the print of the dress.

P.S. I have very exciting news guys! I was asked to start a fashion blog for Madison and Sixth! Click HERE for the blog. We will be blogging fashion ideas, what's new in the store, the latest styles and more! I will be styling outfits for the blog and I will also be featuring other bloggers so follow for updates! I hope everyone is enjoying their week and getting excited for the New Year!

Space Bun

There's this new hair trend that I've been seeing lately and I didn't know if I liked or loathed it. Based on the title you can guess what I'm talking about. Yes, I'm talking about Space buns (aka Miley-Cyrus-gone-crazy-hair, sailor moon hair, etc).  I decided that I should try them out to see if I liked it or not. Instead of going all out and doing two space buns I found a hairstyle that fit my personality more and did the half up space bun. I have to say, I'm obsessed and will probably be doing this hairstyle more often (I'm sorry to all those who loath the space bun, forgive me!)

I'm wearing my new boots that I got for Christmas and the color looks maroon here but I swear its brown! (or at least I hope it is and the lady at the store didn't lied to me) I bought this long tee shirt dress  on ebay this summer and since the length is at an awkward length (right above my ankle making it look like the dress shrunk), I decided to tie a knot to shorten the dress and tied a shirt around my waist to give my outfit more of a spunk.

If you guys like nature inspired jewelry I would definitely check out The Hunter Collection because they make the best necklaces out of arrowheads! Go check them out for more unique, homemade jewelry.

Christmas In California

When you think of Christmas you think of snow, cold weather and wintery things right? Well, Christmas in California involves the beach, sunshine and warm weather. My family decided to take a trip to the beach and we just walked down the pier and enjoyed the warm weather. I'm so grateful to have been able to come home for break and get some Vitamin D. Spending time with family is very important to me and I'm grateful that we were all able to be together this year. Each year it gets harder and harder with all of us growing up and moving out.

I'm wearing this amazing black boyfriend tee with slits on the side today. What's so unique about this shirt is that it has leather sleeves! I am a big fan of cute and comfy clothes and this shirt exceeds my expectations. (shout out to Statement Omaha for the top!) I found these pants (really feel like jeggings tho) at H&M the other day and if you like pants that aren't baggy, these will be your best friends. They don't have a zipper which basically make them look like leggings.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Tis the season for oversized sweaters, cold weather and warm drinks. In the winter it gets pretty chilly so while I'm relaxing from school and work, I like to whip myself a hot drink, put on some comfy clothes and watch a movie on Netflix. Take Me To Paris

Sorry I've been MIA for the past week! I've been crazy with finals so I didn't really have time to focus on my blog. But I'm now on winter break and back home in California so I'll have plenty of time to post some cute outfits! I have to say I am grateful that I live in a city where its warm all year round so my next few outfits might not be for those who live in cities where it snows..

I am seriously in LOVE with this look. I'm wearing two things that I usually never wear: floppy hats and turtle neck sweaters. This look reminds me of France for some reason... like I should be strolling through the narrow streets of Paris buying flowers and baguettes. Yeah I know I'm weird. But really, how adorable is this sweater? I'm loving the batwing sleeves and it's pretty much one of the most comfortable sweaters I own. (Shout out to my bestie for getting it for me for christmas) And can we please talk about this beautiful caramel floppy hat? I'm usually not a huge fan about hats but this one I just love.
PS. Four more days till Christmas!
